Description

With the Delta variant surging, economically marginalized families in Bangladesh have been particularly hard hit. The third wave of COVID-19 has been the deadliest in Bangladesh. Vaccine apartheid and stalled delivery of medical equipment have allowed the Delta variant to wreak havoc on the densely populated country. Due to the lockdown imposed earlier this month, many families who rely on daily wages have no means of putting food on the table. Especially for marginalized families in Korail, Bangladesh's largest urban settlement, hunger is the most urgent problem even amid the life-threatening spread of the virus. Community Town Federation (CTF) is a women-led community organization raising funds for families in Korail who have been hit hardest by the third wave of the pandemic. 100% of this campaign's funds will go directly to their grassroots organizing efforts, which focus on food packets of dry staples and farming packets of tools, seeds, fertilizer, and other necessities that urban farmers need to sustain their livelihoods. One food packet to support a family for a whole week is just around $9. Please consider donating generously - every dollar will go an especially long way in Bangladeshi currency. Thank you for your support! To secure your spot, please Venmo your donation to @ Ria-Mazumdar. Suggested donation is $18-$27 (supporting 2-3 families for a whole week!)
