Summit County Probate Court and Summit Metro Parks are partnering to offer a free outdoor wedding ceremony and vow renewal for Summit County Summit County Probate Court and Summit Metro Parks are partnering to offer a free outdoor wedding ceremony and vow renewal for Summit County residents at Goodyear Heights Metro Park (2077 Newton Street, Akron). Judge Alison Breaux will officiate Promises in the Park: An Outdoor Wedding Event on Friday, September 3, 2021 at 12:30 p.m. Those wishing to marry or renew their vows in this group ceremony must register.   The event will take place in an outdoor setting featuring beautiful park views or inside the Goodyear Heights Lodge in the event of inclement weather. Couples are welcome to invite up to 10 guests to observe their nuptials. Photographs are not only allowed but encouraged. Arrival 12:00 - 12:15 p.m. for sign in with the ceremony beginning at 12:30 p.m. One registration is required per couple.   PLEASE NOTE:  In the event of rain, guests may be limited or even unable to attend based on the projected attendance and COVID 19 safety guidance. Guests do not have to be registered separately.  Every effort will be made to accommodate guests if possible. To commemorate the ceremony, Summit Metro Parks will provide a sapling tree for each couple to plant at home in honor of their marriage. Cupcakes and music will be provided for the ceremony. Couples must obtain a marriage license from Summit County Probate Court prior to the ceremony at the Summit County Court House. Go to summitohioprobate.com for details on obtaining your license. The Summit County Court House is open to the public 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday at 209 S High St, Akron.
