Free Screening - With Free Wellness Food & Drinks and Live Music STEM’d From My Ancestors is a three part docuseries highlighting traditional knowledge and indigenous professionalds in STEM. It is directed & produced by Maliaq Kairaiuak (Yupik/Athabakan). Maliaq is committed to creating a platform for indigenous communities to cultivate media that accurately represents their culture and traditional knowledge. She also is dedicated to advocating for a formal space in education for indigenous STEM practices and respecting the knowledge their ancestors gained over many generations of dedicated research. She hopes to turn STEM'd From My Ancestors into a non-profit and educational cohort that will allow indigenous communities to connect and reclaim control on the narrative of their traditional sciences.
