Description
DÉGRADÉ (2015)(Unrated) Running time of 1 hour and 25 mins. Dégradé (Arabic: ديچراديه) is a 2015 Palestinian drama film directed by Arab and Tarzan Nasser (also known as Mohammed Abunasser and Ahmed Abunasser). It was selected to compete in the International Critics' Week section at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. A hot summer's day in the Gaza Strip. Today the electricity is on. Christine's beauty salon is heaving with female clients: a bride-to-be, a pregnant woman, a bitter divorcée, a devout woman, and a pill-popping addict. But their day of leisure is disrupted when gunfire breaks out across the street. A gangland family has stolen the lioness from Gaza's only zoo, and Hamas has decided it's time to settle old scores. Stuck in the salon, with the prospect of death drawing ever nearer, the women start to unravel. How will the day end? Will they lose their lives for the sake of "liberating the lioness"? PLEASE PURCHASE ONE (1) TICKET PER PERSON. ONE (1) admission ticket PER PERSON is $13 for one movie, Dégradé, or $20 for a double feature of Dégradé and Wajib (starts at 9:30 pm). A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund (PCRF). The Palestine Children's Relief Fund was established in 1992 by concerned humanitarians in the USA to bring injured and sick children for free medical care they could not get locally. Since 1992, PCRF have sent over 2,000 sick and injured children for free medical care, as well as sponsored hundreds of volunteer medical teams from all over the world to treat tens of thousands of sick and injured youths in local hospitals. PCRF also has built two pediatric cancer departments in Palestine and has several more major programs and projects taking place to help support the development of a sustainable health-care system there. PCRF is a grassroots organization depending on the support of thousands of volunteers all over the world to help achieve its humanitarian mission. PCRF envisions a world where all children in the Middle East have access to quality medical care, regardless of nationality, religious or political affiliation, and specialized health services for children are independent and developed at the highest standards. PCRF's mission is to provide medical and humanitarian relief collectively and individually to Arab children throughout the Levant, regardless of their nationality, politics or religion.
