Explore the ecology of the river by observing oyster cages and participate in community science data collection!
This is a a family-friendly event! We will pull up oyster cages installed by the Billion Oyster Project and explore the species inside. Learn about the history of oysters in New York City and their important role in this estuary ecosystem.
We will count and measure the oysters and submit the data to the Billion Oyster Project database. We will also conduct water quality testing activities.
