We are getting together at St. Arnold Brewery Beer Garden to create literacy kits in coordination with United Way of Greater Houston. You can help or just socialize and network. 1. Book BuddiesVolunteers will create literacy kits to help students improve their reading skills. The centerpiece of the kit is an interactive character puppet that kids can use while reading the accompanied book. Kids who have fun while learning are more likely to retain the information and have a joy of reading! Book Buddy kits include a book, character puppet, activity book, bookmark, large eraser, and pencil.Project requires space for volunteers to work on their character puppet, place to put supplies in the center of the tables and 1-2 tables on the side to organize materials.
