Description
Kim loves a great variety of music, playing styles that range from the last 7 decades. Born and raised in Omaha, Kim comes from a musical family. Inspired by her brother, Kim got her 1st guitar at age 11. At age 14, she was a vocalist in a band playing locally for 3 years. Kim hit the road as a single act playing throughout the Midwest before settling to play locally and raise a family. Kim did the John Kraft Chevrolet commercials for 16 years, and did vocals for local and national radio jingles for several years. Kim loves a great variety of music. Consequently, she enjoys playing music that ranges from the last 7 decades. She cut her 1st CD in Tennessee in 2000. Since August of 2004, in addition to her bookings, Kim has very much enjoyed working with Merrymakers (a non-profit organization) that provides 96 facilities with professional entertainment once a month at no charge to the facilities. After singing professionally for 37 years, Kim still loves performing and says, “When this becomes a job, I’ll quit!" Brought to you by: Omaha Music Home to the Omaha Musicians' Association, Local 70-558 of the American Federation of Musicians, OmahaMusic.com specializes in the best live music in Omaha and throughout the Midwest. Nationally, many of the biggest names in the music business are proud members of the AFM. Our local members include recording artists, composers, instrumentalists, vocalists and more... all comprising an eclectic variety of styles, including: jazz, pop, rock, indie, chamber, symphonic and many more. AND Music Performance Trust Fund Mission: To provide admission-free, live, quality music, performed by professional musicians to the public of all backgrounds throughout the United States and Canada. We seek to enrich the lives of the general public, young and old, through music and to contribute to the public’s knowledge and appreciation of music. To make music and music education an exciting experience and to expand it to every child’s life experience. This year the Music Performance Trust Fund presented over 2,000 live, admission-free musical programs. An impressive figure, although considerably lower than in previous years, due to our loss of income caused by illegal downloading and piracy. Nevertheless, the Fund remains the largest provider of free, musical programs for audiences representing every ethnic, economic, social and age group. Our music reaches deep into communities touching the lives of so many; bringing joy to the lonely in nursing homes, bittersweet memories to our vets, hope to at-risk and incarcerated young men and women and songs to children-many who have never experienced live music.
