Join us for our 1st hike of the fall migration, Saturday September 18, 10AM Led by Dave Barry Space is limited to 20 people. Space is limited to 25 people. Join us as we hike the Headlands and watch raptors soar high above the coastal grasslands along their fall migration route. We will start at the Gateway to the Jenner Headlands parking lot off of Highway 1, a mile and a half north of the town of Jenner. The hike will include over 800 feet in elevation gain from the coastal bluffs to the edge of the forested ridgeline. From this vantage point, we will be in prime observation territory to witness the acrobatic feats of these marvelous birds of prey. Dave Barry, founder of Wild By Nature Walks and Talks and Managing Partner of the Jenner Headlands Hawk Watch, will be leading the hike and identifying the raptors that we encounter along the way. Make sure to bring your binoculars to catch all the action! Suggested Items to Bring binocularswatersnacks/lunchsun protectionlayers The Jenner Headlands and Estero Americano Coast Preserves are owned and managed by The Wildlands Conservancy (TWC). The Preserves are protected forever as open space by a conservation easement held by the Sonoma County Agricultural Preservation and Open Space District. The Jenner Headlands Preserve is open to the public seven days a week, 8am to sunset, and free of charge.  Please consider making a donation to The Wildlands Conservancy when registering for your hike so that we can continue to offer free public access to the Sonoma Coast for everyone.
