Description

The Cave Collective welcomes Woodbelly, Humbletown and Nathaniel Riley to the outdoor stage for a night of bluegrass and wonder! The Cave Collective is excited to announce a great big Bluegrass show with some of our best friends! Something downright mystical is happening on Colorado’s Front Range. The very roots of traditional acoustic music seem to sprout from the dirt, shaking their dust into the winds of change, to be breathed in and become the soul of musicians who craft their songs here. Such is the music of Wood Belly, a musical collective of Chris Weist (mandolin), Tom Knowlton (guitar), Chris Zink (dobro), Aaron McCloskey (banjo) and Taylor Shuck (bass). A Wood Belly song has its own lyrical persona and masterful arrangement; rooted in bluegrass tradition and planted solidly in contemporary innovation. Humbletown plays both as a duo and as a larger band. Dylan James and Morgan Lee form the Humbletown Duo, with Dylan on guitar and mandolin and Morgan on banjo. The full band consists of Dylan and Morgan plus Connor Pederson and a rotating cast of bassists. Connor plays a unique style of cello, with fiddle-like influences. Humbletown plays a combination of original and cover songs from folk to bluegrass to jazz. Humbletown has performed at the Telluride Bluegrass Festival’s band competition, House of Blues in New Orleans, and played with such bands as Trout Steak Revival, Lost Dog Street Band, and the Two Tracks. Humbletown also performed at Revival Music Festival at Harmony Park, MN. Opening the show will be a Black Hills native by way of Colorado, Nathaniel Riley.
