You will hear many stories, immerse in the culture of the city, make new friends and learn the past and present of our beautiful San Diego! Starts: 10 am (Morning Tour) and 2 pm (Afternoon Tour) We meet at the Gaslamp Quarter Arch. Duration: 1,5 hours. Ends: at the Waterfront Park, close to Little Italy, around 11.30 am (Morning Tour) and 3.30 pm (Afternoon Tour) Description of the tour: The San Diego Free Walking Tour explores the historical Gaslamp Quarter as well as a portion of San Diego’s waterfront. On the tour we will see the main streets of the heart of San Diego, the small parks in between, walk the waterfront and hear stories about the rich history of the area. Other than the sites of the Gaslamp Quarter we will also see the USS Midway, the largest non nuclear class carrier ship to ever be part of the U.S. Navy! We will walk along San Diego’s harbor, talk about The Star of India, one of the most beautiful ships in the bay, and sneak peak at the Unconditional Surrender Statue. Reveal the story about the famous kiss of a sailor and a nurse. You will also receive an insider’s list of things to do, tips and tricks for the most touristy attractions, and alternative places that are not on the first page of Google in San Diego! Logistics: The tour begins at the Gaslamp Quarter Arch and ends at the Waterfront Park covering a distance of roughly a mile and a half and taking anywhere from an hour and a half to two hours. The terrain is flat, easy to traverse and the pace is casual to ensure that everyone can enjoy the tour. The price of the tour is pay as you wish. All guides are volunteers and not paid by any outside entity.
