A night of noise making with New Primals, Kentucky Gag Order and In Lieu.
New Primals is a Noise/Dance-Punk band from Minneapolis, MN, consisting of Sam Frederick on Guitar & Vocals, Ali Terveen on Bass, and Lars Oslund on Drums. New Primals sound is best described as a cacophony of piercing sounds, disjointed guitars, and atonal melodies, which are roped together by heavy, danceable rhythms.
Rumor has it, Jesus died on a cross and was able to get back to business three days later. It took Kentucky Gag Order significantly longer, as they don't have Christ's management team. Originally active from 2001-2003, Kentucky Gag Order were resurrected in 2019.
And though they've never turned water into wine, Kentucky Gag Order do perform the miracle of having both style AND substance.
Singer Dojo Holliday possesses the raw charisma of a Pentacostal preacher- yet, still pays his taxes with the rest of the commoners. Holliday employs his oratory skills to command the congregants of makeshift venues and dives in lieu of stuffy churches- his lyrical liturgies, delivered over the hypnotic rhythm section of Jeff Smieding and Greg Schaal. Kentucky Gag Order exist to explore the potent side of rock and roll; where eloquence and delinquency meet up to throw a blasphemous rager.
Formed originally in 2016 by front person Nikii Post, In Lieu is a grungy, post-punk foursome out of Minneapolis, MN. Their sound takes influence from the 90s with heavily fuzzed guitars, aggressive rhythms, and melodic vocals.
