Hands of Hope Sickle Cell Awareness Foundation is hosting its annual Sickle Cell Awareness Walk on September 18th, 2021 at Rowlett Park. Registration begins at 7am and the walk starts at 8. Bring your children, your friends and your family to support this amazing cause.
There will be a variety of vendors, games and activities and food for sale. Please indicate your shirt size when you register and we will do our best to accommodate you. Shirt sizes are NOT guaranteed.
Hands of Hope SCA is a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization incorporated to help families and individuals living with sickle cell anemia disease by:
Providing emergency assistance when needed (prescription assistance and transportation).
Provide community information and referral (doctor's, specialist, community programs and services).
Provide social and emotional support thru support groups, weekly, monthly and yearly activities.
Provide health education to new families living with sickle cell.
Provide community educational training, tutoring and mentoring.
Provide testing for Sickle Cell and the Sickle Cell trait.
Our mission: To raise sickle cell awareness, educate the community about possible treatment, and pain management. To help build a healthier quality of life through advocacy, education, fundraising, and supporting the Tampa Bay sickle cell community and provide tutoring services for school aged children and young adults.
