It is no secret that parent-teacher relations are key to a child's success in school. There are ways that parents can help their children succeed at school, and the most important way is by working with teachers to create a positive environment for learning. We all know that kids learn best when they are given the opportunity to explore and play. We also know that parents play an important role in their child's education, but what does a parent actually do? In this blog post, Valrico preschool will discuss how parent-teacher collaboration is essential for your child's development and learning. What can parents do? The first thing parents should do when meeting with their child's teacher is review any homework assignments or grades from previous lessons. This allows you to have an open line of communication about what needs to happen next in order for your child to be successful. Next, ask questions! Parents should always feel free to ask as many questions as needed so that they may better understand what happens in their child's life. Parents should be having conversations with their children about school work, preschool program, providing help with homework or reviewing concepts at home. Parents should encourage creativity by doing crafts or projects together as well as reading books outside of school assignments. Finally, make sure you have positive interactions with teachers during conferences so they get to know you better! This way, teachers can provide more tailored support for your child.
