Nature enthusiasts are encouraged to sign up for State College of Florida, Manatee-Sarasota's (SCF) 12-week arboriculture class taking place Mondays and Fridays, Sept. 13-Oct. 22 from 10-11 a.m. at SCF Lakewood Ranch, 7131 Professional Parkway, Sarasota. The cost is $80 per person. To register, visit SCF.edu/Training, select the tab labeled Personal Enrichment on the left-hand side, and click Arboriculture.
Led by ISA Certified Arborist Ken Green, this course will cover many topics to help attendees understand how to plant, care for, and maintain trees and shrubs. Class sessions will include safety and tools, pruning, root management, tree valuation to property, and arboriculture and law.
