SEATTLE — Three popular Seattle venues will soon begin requiring guests to be fully vaccinated and keep their face coverings, beginning in August. The Seattle Theatre Group announced the plans Friday for upcoming performances at the Paramount, Moore and Neptune venues, starting Aug. 12. Before they can enter the venue, most patrons will need to show identification along with proof they are fully vaccinated — meaning two weeks beyond either a second dose of Pfizer or Moderna or a single dose of Johnson & Johnson. Masks will be required for patrons and employees in all sections during events, except when they are actively eating or drinking. Acceptable proof of vaccination includes: Vaccination card (which includes name of person vaccinated, type of vaccine provided and date last dose administered).A photo of a vaccination card as a separate document.A photo of the attendee's vaccine card stored on a phone or electronic device.Documentation of vaccination from a healthcare provider electronic health record or state Immunization Information System record.Matching photo ID required at the door. Guests who cannot be fully vaccinated, including children under 12, may still enter with proof of a negative COVID-19 test from less than 72 hours before the show or a negative antigen test no older than 24 hours. Acceptable proof of a negative test includes: Printed document (from the test provider or laboratory). An email or text message displayed on a phone or electronic device from the test provider or laboratory. The information provided should include name of person tested, type of test performed, and date of negative test result (for PCR test, date of negative result must be within prior 72 hours; for antigen test, date of negative result must be within prior 24 hours).Matching photo ID required at the door. STG's announcement comes amid a fifth surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations, fueled by the more infectious delta variant. Over the last week, King County saw case counts increase nearly 50 percent. On Thursday, Public Health - Seattle & King County released information about three recent outbreaks, including one at an unnamed indoor music venue in mid-July, where 26 people tested positive for COVID-19 after an event. Though proof of vaccination was required at the door, public health officials found immunization status was not verified for staff members, masks inside were optional, distancing was impossible and ventilation was poor.
