MERCER COUNTY, NJ — Mercer County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for the county? The county averaged 34 new cases per day this week with nine new probable cases being reported daily, according to the New Jersey Department of Health. As of Aug. 2, Princeton alone reported 10 positive cases in the past seven days and 14 positive cases in the past 14 days. The municipality has now reinstated all COVID-19 safety protocols in municipal buildings. All staff and visitors, unvaccinated and vaccinated, will have to wear masks at municipal buildings, the township announced. Mercer County and the rest of New Jersey have "moderate" COVID activity, according to New Jersey's latest weekly report. The determination is based on metrics such as case rate, positivity rate, and prevalence of COVID-like illnesses. The uptick in cases statewide lead Gov.
