First, today's weather: Clear throughout the day. High: 101 Low: 63. Here are the top stories in Sacramento today: New options for the way we work are bringing renters from San Jose and San Francisco to the Sacramento market, driving up rents at an alarming rate. The workers are bringing big budgets with them, so it's harder and harder for Sacramentans to compete for the leases that do exist. Rents were up 12% year over year and it doesn't look like there's an end in sight. (ABC10) Did you know that the American River Parkway gets more visitors per year than Yosemite? It's true. And this year, it has also suffered more fire damage than ever before. Since May 11% of the Parkway has burned. Most blame the growing number of homeless camps in the area. Now, advocates are trying a new tactic to raise awareness—releasing a documentary film highlighting the growing problems that plague the Parkway. (CBS Sacramento) A partnership between Habitat for Humanity of Greater Sacramento and Sacramento County and Color is bringing a new COVID-19 vaccine clinic to Sacramento. The clinics will be held at the Habitat for Humanity ReStore location at 819 N. 10th St. in Sacramento and will run from 10 am to 4 pm every Wednesday. (KCRA3)It's a happy ending for an alleged familial child abduction that happened Wednesday night in Sacramento. The father allegedly took his toddler, telling the child's mother that she wouldn't see the child again. Police found the toddler at motel in Fairfield with his father. The father has been arrested and mother and child have been reunited.
