Description
If you've ever watched children sway to the beat of the music, you can't help but grin. Their free-wheeling movements make you smile at their uninhibited style.
Shaker librarians know that music, and dance are much more than just playful activities for children. Music and dance are good for muscle development, balance, coordination, and spatial awareness and they clearly stimulate brain development. Music and dance programs bring children together and help them develop the listening and social skills to prepare them for school. Creative activities help children express themselves and provide an opportunity to express themselves.
On Monday August 16 from 3 - 4 pm on the lawn at Bertram Woods Branch, children ages 4 and older are invited to create their very own wearable tutus from tulle and ribbons and listen to ballet music and a story about tutus.
