Learn about which essential oils you should have in your medicine cabinet and how to use them safely and effectively.
What are essential oils? They are the volatile liquids that are steam distilled from plants. They can come from various parts of the plants, including the stems, leaves, seeds, bark, roots, flowers… Essential oils contain many of the natural defense mechanisms that the plant uses to protect itself. Not all essential oils are the same; climate, soil type, altitude… all play a key factor in what the essential oil will contain. The goal of this talk is to give you a basic understanding of what essential oils are and to go through some of the main essential oils that should be in your health arsenal. I will also be discussing how to safely use these oils and the most effective ways to use them. Some of the oils that I will cover include: lavender, tea tree, frankincense, orange, lemon, cedarwood, peppermint, clove bud...
