A fun and interactive workshop to learn therapeutic skills to help with your anxiety! Led by a psychotherapist and a comedian.
Do you have anxiety? Are you looking for something other than talk therapy that could help? Have you ever been interested in improv but feel like your anxiety has gotten in the way? Improv for Anxiety is for you. Many times individuals with anxiety have difficulty forming deep connections to people outside of their comfort zone. In this workshop, individuals are able to explore and process anxiety together and find group cohesion through play and humor. Students will find this class to be light-hearted and fun while gaining support with others who have similar struggles. In addition to improv techniques that promote mental health and manage anxiety, therapeutic modalities such as mindfulness, CBT, Biofeedback, and Rapid Resolution Therapy will also be integrated throughout the class.
This *free* drop-in workshop is Saturday, August 21st from 2-4pm. The instructor is psychotherapist and improv instructor, Andrea Baum. This community event is free, however registration is required to attend. All students must adhere to policies in the Stomping Ground Student Handbook. Must be 18 years or older. This event is BYOB. Masks are strongly recommended for students who are not fully vaccinated. Classrooms and common areas will be sanitized prior to each class.
