Main Street Fort Dodge is celebrating Fort Dodge foods during the Farm2Fork Dinner on August 28, 2021. Downtown Farm2Fork Dinner Saturday, August 28 Main Street Fort Dodge is celebrating Fort Dodge foods for the Farm2Fork Dinner Saturday, August 28, 2020. Green State Credit Union is sponsoring a magical evening of family-style farm-fresh cuisine, local unique wines and beer, and live music. The event will be held on the street in the 800 block of Central Avenue on Saturday, August 28 beginning with a happy hour/reception at 4:30. Dinner will be served at 5:30. This experience goes well beyond the dinner. “We our showcasing local foods grown by local people prepared by downtown restaurants and caterers,” stated Kris Patrick, executive director. Cocktail attire is encouraged. The distinctive event captures the talents of many Fort Dodge groups bringing them together for this exclusive opportunity. Shiny Top Brewing and River Hops Brewing have created specialty beers for the both the reception, featuring appetizers from The Fox and the Fork Catering, and the five-course meal Catered by Olde Boston’s. The special menu created for the event includes apples from the Community Orchard, wine from Soldier Creek Winery, entrée supplied by Sawyer Meats, and vegetables purchased locally. Completing the meal, The Dariette will create a specialty dessert with specially blended coffee from Central Perk and Dessert. Tickets are $400 for a table of six and includes wine or beer and the five-course meal. Groups may add up to two additional people for $60 pp. “We are following CDC and Webster County Health guidelines to ensure safety of those attending,” remarked Patrick. “We are encouraging social distancing. We recommend having a vaccine before attending group events, and if you are sick, please do not attend.” Tickets are available at Main Street Fort Dodge located at 24 N 9th Street Suite D in the Growth Alliance Building. For people wishing to purchase with Paypal or a card, tickets are available for purchase on www.mainstretfd.org or through Main Street’s Facebook page. Seating is limited. Central Avenue will be closed starting at 2 p.m. on August 28. Parking is available in the Wells Fargo lot adjacent to the north, public lots, or on 8th Street and 9th Street.
