Montgomery Department of Public Safety invites you to join us for a 9/11 rededication ceremony, day of activity, BBQ, and family fun event. The Public Safety Appreciation Day will begin at 8:30am with a 9/11 rededication ceremony to honor those who lost their lives twenty years ago, and those who have served on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic. The event will take place at 50 Eagleville Rd Norristown PA at the Emergency Operations Center, and the running events will start and end at the EOC. Parking will be on-site and walkable. Schedule: 8:30am-9am: 9/11 Rededication Memorial To take place at the front of the EOC at the relocated 9/11 memorial. 9am: Kid's Fun Run 100yrd Dash at the 5k Start/Finish line9:10am: 5k Walk/Run 9:20am: 5k 3-Person Relay Event Each runner will run a one-mile leg of the 5k course. Relay team members will be shuttled to relay points.9:30am: Firefighter's 5k Walk/Run Participate in this event in your bunker gear! 11am-1pm: Cornhole Tournament Sign up in a 2-person team to participate in a single-elimination cornhole bracket.11am-1pm: BBQ, Apparatus Display, Music, & Family Fun Please register for the Kid's Fun Run, 5k Events, and Cornhole Tournament. All participants in these events will receive a t-shirt, and all 5k participants will receive a finisher's medal. Awards will be given to top finishers in each event. Participants in the Kid's Fun Run will receive goodie bags. No registration necessary to enjoy the family fun day!
