Latina girls in grades K-5 are invited to explore the outdoors and learn more about birds and migration. Girl Scouts River Valleys invites Latinas in grades K-5 to our third Latina/o/x Family Engagement series. This program offers the entire family an opportunity to learn something new! Why do birds fly to Minnesota in the summer and back to Central and South America in the winter? Explore what a bird needs to find out. Investigate the challenges and rewards that come with migrating. Learn how to use binoculars to find birds and join the adults in the Coffee Roasting for Birds class to go on a hike and find the migrating birds that make Eastman Nature Center their summer home. Each registered girl in attendance will receive a gift bag and a birding patch for participating. Each registered family will receive lunch at this event! This program is in Spanish and English. Who: For girls entering Kindergarten-5 (fall 2021) and their parent/guardian. Parents/guardians must register and be present with their girl(s) during the event. * You do not need to Girl Scout member for this event. Explore lo que un pájaro necesita para averiguarlo. Investigue los desafíos y las recompensas que conlleva la migración. Aprenda a usar binoculares para encontrar aves y únase a los adultos en la clase “Coffee Roasting for Birds” para hacer una Paseo para encontrar las aves migratorias que hacen de Eastman Nature Center su hogar de verano.
