SOMERVILLE, MA — Somerville police were called to four break-ins over the last week. The first break-in was reported around 1:30 p.m. July 30 near McGrath Highway and Prospect Hill Avenue, police said. A man told police when he noticed the locks to his front and office doors missing when he returned home on July 26. His room had been ransacked, and several electronic items were missing, police said. Two break-ins were reported July 31. Two Wheatland Street residents told officers they found their apartment ransacked when they returned home around 3 p.m. Several items were reported missing, police said. Around 8:30 p.m., police were called to Morrison Avenue for a past breaking and entering. A woman told police she returned home earlier that night and found her room in a different condition than how she left it. Nothing was reported missing, police said. A fourth break-in was reported around 3:20 p.m. Aug. 2. Two residents of Cutter Avenue told officers their shed was broken into, and their bicycles were stolen.
