WINTER HAVEN, FL — Ten dollars from every LEGOLAND® Florida online ticket purchased starting Thursday, August 5, will be donated to The American Red Cross. For more than 100 years, Red Cross has helped residents who have lost their homes to disasters such as fires, hurricanes, floods and wildfires. In 2021, the intensity of Florida's wildfires have increased, according to the agency. In March, after a wildfire in Lakeland covered 90 acres, it quickly expanded to more than 400 acres. In May, Hillsborough County also experienced an intense wildfire. One-day tickets to LEGOLAND Florida Theme Park can be purchased for $47 through an exclusive online offer—a savings of 50 percent off the gate price—and $10 from every ticket sold will be donated to Red Cross disaster relief. The majority of the more than 60,000 national disasters Red Cross responds to are house fires. "We are honored to partner with the Red Cross again to help support their disaster relief as the peak of hurricane season starts. This August, you and your family can help our local community while also celebrating our park's 10th birthday," Rex Jackson, LEGOLAND Florida Resort president, said. Tickets must be purchased online August 5 through September 5 at redcross.org/Legoland and are valid for park admission through the same dates. Ten dollars per ticket will be donated to the Red Cross, up to $120,000. For LEGOLAND general information, park hours and COVID safety guidelines, click here. "Our Central Florida neighbors count on the Red Cross to be there to provide comfort, relief and hope after disasters big and small. The generous support of partners like LEGOLAND Florida enables the Red Cross to respond immediately, helping survivors rebuild their lives," Tina Sweeten, executive director of the Mid-Florida Chapter in Winter Haven, said. The American Red Cross of Central Florida and the U.S. Virgin Islands serves 19 Florida counties through five chapters: Florida's Space Coast (Daytona Beach), Greater Orlando, Mid-Florida (Winter Haven), Southwest Florida (Sarasota) and Tampa Bay; and the Virgin Islands territories of St. Thomas, St. Croix, St. John and Water Island.
