Join Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens to relaunch our gardening series! Our class topic is: Herbs and Their Link to Cancer and Overall Health At September's class, participants will learn about the link between herbs and cancer from Registered Dietician Nutritionist Laura Rutledge and will be taught about planting and taking care of herbs by a Master Gardener. Please bring your own pot (approximately 8-10" container with drainage holes) so you can take an herb plant home with you. To reserve your place, we request a $5 reservation fee. Scholarships are available; for more information, please contact Forge at 205-838-6159. Hosted by Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center, Alabama Cooperative Extension System, and Birmingham Botanical Gardens, Forge's gardening classes are for anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as their loved ones and the healthcare professionals that serve them. Please note: This is planned as an indoor event with limited seating. Current COVID-19 guidelines from the City of Birmingham's Park & Recreation Department require social distancing and masks to be worn by all vaccinated and unvaccinated individuals while visiting a city owned venue. If guidelines change before the date of the event, Forge will provide an update. Forge Breast Cancer Survivor Center (Forge) offers support knowledge, strength, and direction to all those touched by breast cancer. Forge's classes are for anyone who has ever been diagnosed with breast cancer, as well as their loved ones and the healthcare professionals that serve them.
