Description
EAST HAMPTON, NY — Cell service in East Hampton has long been an issue for many — and now, East Hampton town officials are asking people to weigh in.
A new poll asks residents, workers, and visitors alike to share their thoughts on cellular network coverage, concerns, and wishes regarding wireless infrastructure facilities.
Results will help to shape the draft wireless master plan and development of the wireless network in town, officials said.
In September, 2020, East Hampton town issued a request for proposals for a consultant to analyze the currently existing network created by personal wireless carriers, assess infrastructure needs, and recommend potential solutions to meet growing demands.
CityScape Consultants was hired to conduct the research and draft the wireless master plan; the town code will also be updated.
A wireless telecommunications advisory committee was convened in December to work with CityScape.
The poll is available in English and Spanish here and should be completed by August 22.
