Description
MILFORD, CT — More than two-dozen Milford parents and children gathered on the Post Road Tuesday to voice their collective displeasure at the prospect of mask requirements in K-12 school this fall, which remains a distinct possibility in Connecticut, reported the Connecticut Post.
The rally was organized by the grassroots group UnmaskOurKidsCT.com, which has held similar rallies in other communities around the state in recent weeks.
Participants held up signs, such as "Don't restrict my breathing for funding," and waved and cheered when motorists honked horns in support.
As the Delta variant of the coronavirus winds its way through Connecticut and the nation, Gov. Ned Lamont has not yet made a final decision on masks in schools. He said he is leaning in that direction after the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently recommended it.
