MILFORD, CT — The Board of Aldermen approved an ordinance that bans pot smoking in public recreational locations and allows police to issue $50 fines, the Connecticut Post reports.
The ordinance prevents people from smoking marijuana in public places such as beaches and or recreational facilities.
Police Chief Keith Mello told the aldermen the ordinance allows police officers the ability to tell people they can't light up in public places, the Post reports. Milford Health Director Deepa Joseph told the aldermen she is concerned about second-hand smoke.
