UNION COUNTY, NJ — Are you looking something free and enjoyable to do in Union County this week? Here are some free series and events to attend nearby. Union County Mayor's Concert Series: Broadway, En Vogue, Lance Bass Thursday, Aug. 5, Broadway, Film and TV actor Terron Brooks will be part of "The Soul of Broadway," part of the ongoing Union County Mayor's Concert Series in Rahway. It's Brooks' first live concert appearance in over a year. Admission is free and there will be a beer garden at the site. En Vogue, Lance Bass, and Sugar Ray will come to town for future weekly concerts, all free and all with a beer garden on site to raise money for first responders. Find out more about the series here. Enjoy Music And Eat Outdoors In Downtown Westfield Open Quimby, Downtown Westfield's popular pedestrian plaza, will host events, outdoor dining, and live music every summer weekend. Attend A Birthday Party For Rescue Dogs Scotch Plains is hosting DOGust Celebration, a universal birthday party for adopted and rescue dogs, on Aug. 11 at Jerseyland Park. The event will include a cool off zone, crafts and activities, donation drive, food, and community groups. One dog per human will be allowed. Pre-registration is required. Find out more here.
