Press release from Johnson City Public Library: Hannah Kiger August 4, 2021 Do you love discovering unique books you never knew existed? If you haven't been to a Friends of the Library (FOL) Book Sale, you are missing out! The next public sale is this Saturday, August 7 from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. in the Library's Jones Meeting Room. The last two hours of the sale, 2-4 p.m., will include a special $5 bag sale. Bags are provided at the sale if you need them, but you can also bring your own. The sale features thousands of donated items. Friends member Elisabeth Dubberley says, "I love seeing the wide variety of materials and genres at our book sales. You can find all sorts of hidden gems, from fiction, nonfiction, and audiobooks to DVDs and CDs. There really is something for everyone!" Along with discovering hidden gems, the sale offers you a tangible way to support your Library. All proceeds from the sale go to furthering Johnson City Public Library's work. The sale prices are unbeatable. Paperbacks cost $1 and hardbacks cost $3; children's books are 4 for $1 and children's chapter books are 2 for $1. Young adult books are all $1. CDs are 4 for $1 and DVDs are $1 each. You can also purchase a Library tote bag full of items for $25. In addition to the Saturday sale, Friends of the Library members are invited to a special preview sale on Friday, August 6 from 5:30-7 p.m. The Friends of the Johnson City Public Library is a volunteer group dedicated to the welfare and promotion of the Library.
