ROMEOVILLE, IL — Founder's Day parade applications are now available for groups who wish to walk in the annual parade on Sept. 19. The end-of-summer festival will be celebrated over four days this year.
On the last day of the fest on Sept. 19, the parade will kick off the day's festivities. Line-up for the parade begins at 1:30 p.m. and will kick off at 2:30 p.m. from St. Andrew the Apostle Church, according to the Village.
There isn't a fee to participate in the parade, and all groups who turn in their entry form on time and who are not requesting payment will be accepted. If a professional group requires a fee, the Village said the group will be notified no later than Sept. 1 if they are accepted.
Founder's Day also features live music, art displays, food truck, kids activities, fireworks and more. The 2021 Founder's Day entertainment weekend schedule can be found below:
Thursday, Sept. 16 - ¡Viva México! 6:30 to 9 p.m. – Celebrate Mexican Independence Day with authentic Mexican food and entertainment.
Friday, Sept. 17 – Celebrate Romeoville! 6 to 9:30 p.m. – Come out and party with Romeoville with live music (7th Heaven), children's entertainment, food activities and fireworks.
Saturday, Sept. 18 – A Day of the Arts, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. – Join for a day of the arts with a car show, art displays, chalk contest, children's activities, bags tournament, live music (Anthem), food and drinks.
Sunday, Sept. 19 – Be Your Own Superhero, 2:30 to 6:30 p.m. – Up, up, and away, come celebrate Founder's Day! Calling all superheroes for the annual parade, followed by children's entertainment. Parade will kick off at 2:30 p.m. from St. Andrew the Apostle Church, 505 Kingston Drive.
