ASBURY PARK, NJ – The Asbury Park-based Sea.Hear.Now Festival is requiring that all attendees either show proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test taken 3 days before attending the festival. The decision for the major music event - which attracts over 50,000 attendees every year with headliners like Pearl Jam, The Smashing Pumpkins and Billy Idol- was announced Wednesday via social media. "The safety of our patrons and our staff is our number one priority," festival organizers stated on their Instagram. "As such, a full COVID-19 vaccination or negative COVID-19 test results will be required to attend Sea.Hear.Now 2021. For patrons who are not fully vaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test result must be obtained within 72 hours (3 days) of first day attending Sea.Hear.Now." The sold-out festival - which will take place on the Asbury Park Beachfront on Sept. 18 and 19 - and will feature a surf contest along with live performances from Patti Smith and her Band, The Avett Brothers, Patti Scialfa and more.
