CHICAGO — A 4-year-old girl was shot and killed inside of an Englewood home by another child, Chicago police said.
Officials responded to the scene on the 6400 block of South Carpenter Street at around 6 p.m. Thursday. Authorities said the girl, identified as Makaylah McKay, was accidentally shot in the chest by another child who found a gun inside the home.
The young girl was taken to Comer Children's Hospital where she was pronounced dead. An adult man at the scene was taken in for questioning, police said.

David Brown said the shooting was an accident by a visiting relative.
"It was an accident," he said. "A visiting relative brought a gun to visit in in a bag, one of the young kids were playing with the guns and accidentally shot one of the kids," Brown said.
