Description
LAKEWOOD, OH — While construction crews improve the Detroit-Sloane intersection, a traffic signal change will alter the path for drivers.
For the next 45 days, a three-way stop will be implemented at the Detroit and Detroit Extension intersection, the city announced.
Why are crews working on the Detroit-Sloane intersection? They're trying to make it safer for pedestrians.
In 2017, Lakewood officials ran a survey to determine how safe residents felt at the intersection. Motorists were extremely comfortable...but they were the only ones. Both walkers and cyclists said the area made them uncomfortable.
In late May 2021, crews began replacing sewers and water lines and re-doing pavement in the area.
