I am seeking a very special new owner for Hank. He is about 11 or 12 yrs old and I adopted him about four years ago. My female dog just had puppies and she is really rough on the poor guy now. He is soooo tender hearted, sensitive, and sweet and I feel this arrangement is not good for his self-esteem and putting undo stress on him. I picture his perfect home to be with someone who likes to stay home and wants a sweet lap dog. He is afraid of loud noises and visibly shakes when he needs comfort from you. He will stand on his hind legs and ask to be held. It just breakes my heat when he is afraid! He is a mix of dachshund and chihuahua He weighes about 10 lbs and is fully vaccinated. He gets along well with other pets but he would do best as an only child. He is fine with children but he would be in his element if he were the whole focus of someone’s world. His overnight bag will have his bed, two leashes, one retractable, hos bed and his favorite babies (stuffed toys). He is potty trained but you need to be vigilant. He is aging and getting lazy and doesn’t always tell you he needs ro go out. He sleeps in the human bed at night and is a stout and healthy little bugger. He can jump in most cars and on most couches and chairs. He loves car rides, travels well, and can sit, stay, shake, and high five. His favorite game is hide-and-go seek with his babies. Its adorable and it demonstrates his playful side. The most important element with him is that his owner must be a gentle, kind, introverted type with time to be his best pal. He is sweetly shy and doesn’t go to just anyone. He has to sense you’re special and safe before he will trust you. After that, he relies on you. He’s just adorable too, with one ear higher than the other. 😀 Do you know anyone for him? Please email me if you or someone you know would be there for him.
