Description
Drummer, 60 (but much more mature), seeks bandmates (and mate-ess-es) to play various "pop/rock songs" that everyone in the band is jazzed to play. A democratic playlist of super-cool-groovey tunes that probably no one has ever heard of... but that's beside the point... passion is not. No metal or bad country music. (Good country music is fine though...) but for the most part, I'd call it "adult contemporary" for lack of a better label...
To throw out a soft set of such most-sufficient music...
01. Brilliant Mistake - Elvis Costello
02. I Need Love - Sam Phillips
03. Wonderful - Adam Ant
04. Cure For Pain - Morphine
05. For Peat's Sake - The Monkees
06. Fisherman's Blues - The Waterboys
07. Super Freaky Memories - Luna
08. It's Too Late - The Jim Caroll Band
09. Walk On By - The Stranglers
10. Shadow In My Heart - The Psychedelic Furs
11. Overpowered By Funk - The Clash
12. Love Song - Simple Minds
13. Is It Like Today? - World Party
14. The Valley of the Pagans - Gorillaz
15. Beirut - Santa Fe
Can't be done? What "respectable" venue would have a band with a set list like that? Don't know. Don't care. Just want to play some tunes I like to play. And if we all like the same tunes, well, shit! It might just work out. At the very least, play some music we all like and might not otherwise get to play "in-the-flesh" out there in Squaresville, USA. :-)
So pick a favorite, or two... or suggest one, or two... or even a few... and let's play it....Got the space. Got the time....Got the rhythm. Got the rhyme....Yada-yada-yada! :-)
Cheers!
