PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This is not a full-time/part-time position. This is a freelance or “gig-like” job, that is good for anyone who drives often. It can be done by anyone with a valid driver’s license and near-daily access to a vehicle. It is especially well suited to people who are already driving for apps such as Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, and similar platforms. About Hivemapper: Hivemapper is a decentralized mapping network designed to be built and updated by contributors like you. As a technology company we make use of the imagery submitted to us via drone, dashcam, or smartphone to make fresh maps of our changing world. The Gig: Responsibilities include: * Mapping a given area with a small camera (dashcam) we will provide you * Uploading the footage to Hivemapper (detailed instructions will be provided) * That’s it! It’s that simple. The job will require someone to have the following: * Detail oriented: ability to follow instructions * Strong driving ability and have a valid driver’s license * Comfort with technology: smartphone, computer, small camera * Reliable computer and internet: You will need to upload footage consistently * Be able to map during the day (ideally the hours between 8:00am - 4:00 pm or times after sunrise and before sunset - as these are the best times to map) Pay Scale: * The pay scale is based on the tiles you collect. Currently, we are offering $1 per 688 tiles (just under 1 mile). You can learn more about our tile-based system by going to docs.hivemapper.com/main-concepts/honey * If you're already driving for other platforms such as Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, private car companies, or other similar platforms, this would be a great supplemental income. It can offset the cost of your fuel or other expenses by doing what you're already doing - driving.
