Department of Health Walton County Health Department is seeking OPS Maintenance and Repair Worker Position Number: 64966086 Salary: $ 13/hour REQUIREMENTS This position provides manual housekeeping/custodial duties and facility maintenance. Is responsible for the cleanliness, outside upkeep of the Walton County Health Department sites. Vacuum carpeted floors, sweep, mop, and polish tile floors wipe down door handles, elevator & facility walls as instructed by supervisor. Spot clean or shampoo carpet as needed. Clean up after accidents, spills, or sickness as needed. Clean lavatories, commodes, mirrors of bathrooms, glass doors, and drinking fountains. Keep dispensers filed with paper towels, toilet paper, and hand soap. Wash windows, clean and dust ledges, windowsills, and furniture. Empty trash baskets in offices and clinics regularly and dispose of waste in an acceptable manner. Report any damages or conditions needing professional attention. Assist in inventory and assure an adequate supply of supplies are ordered and maintained. When supplies are delivered, sort and store in an orderly manner. Assist staff as requested. Prepare conference room for meetings and trainings. Wash and detail vehicles. Requires knowledge of basic infection control measures. Requires ability to perform work while wearing a mask and effectively communicate with others. Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external customers. Will require working early morning or evenings when clinics are closed. Assist with the professional appearance of the exterior of the facilities. Keep cans, bottles, and broken glass, and other garbage picked up from the parking lot. May be required to provide landscape maintenance as needed, blow off sidewalks and entrance areas as needed. Monitor facility on the outside and inside for safety issues. Will be available to work for irregular and indeterminate periods of time in the event of a disaster or other type emergency. May be required to travel in personal vehicle to work at other CHD sites. Required Qualifications: • Must also have a valid Driver’s License. Preference is given to bilingual candidates with Spanish language ability. This position requires a level II security background check. Incumbents may be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days. Required to lift and carry 50 pounds.
