Description

We sadly have come to the decision we need to find another home for Sirius. He looks like he is a deer hound, straight out of Harry Potter, but we don't know his story, as he was a rescue. He is the sweetest cuddle bug, and is 100% happy just to be with you, and never wants his pets to stop. He is house trained, walks amazingly well on a leash, sits, lays, stays. He gets along well with other dogs and cats. Squats to pee, and doesn't mark his territory. Silly and playful. Great with our kids, 2 and 8. We guess he's about 3. We are rehoming him because since our move, his prey drive has kicked in full force when we are not home, and goes after chickens, guinea fowl, geese, guinea pigs, and baby pigs.... basically anything small that isn't a cat or dog. We have tried everything, and after months, he is no less driven, and we don't think we are able to offer him the ideal home. He will stop any behavior with very easy correction, but is sneaky and knows when we are not home to get them. His ideal home would be one he is fenced in, with or without other dogs or cats. He could also go to a home without a fence if someone is home most of the time... as he just wants to be glued to someone for pets. He sleeps in a kennel in the livingroom, and stays nicely in it for short stays. He chills on his runner too, but his neck is smaller than his head, and he sometimes manages to get off, and has caught animals while tethered. He loves gentle kids. He is fearful from his "before us" life, and works best with the gentle correction sound "tsst" rather than a stern voice. Rehoming fee applies, about the same as adoption fee. He is neutered and microchipped.
