Documentary film introduced by the director. Cris Saur was bullied in school for being taller and skinnier than the rest of the girls. Later she became a model for the exact same features she was bullied for. The pressure for the perfect look left her with a very low self-esteem, and she only realized how damaged her sense of self was after being physically abused by a former partner. Her distorted ideas of her role as a woman in our society, and what true beauty means were the inspiration behind her choice to travel the world in a quest to understand beauty. A quest for beauty is Cris Saur's first feature documentary, a film that seeks to portray beauty in a more meaningful way. Shot in 12 countries, with over 30 interviews; from philosophers to fashion designers, mathematician and even a visually impaired person sharing their perspectives on beauty. Studio Channel Islands is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to a bringing together artists and community for extraordinary artistic encounters that enrich, educate, and entertain.
