Invite only fall baseball team hosted by Duchesne Baseball Coaching Staff 2021 PIONEER SCOUT TEAM INFO PURPOSE: To provide an opportunity for players to play under the guidance of Duchesne High School coaching staff to see what parts of the game are important to high school coaches as the players begin to approach high school. This is also a great opportunity for players and families to get to know our program and our coaching style! COST: $215 ($195 if signed up by Wednesday August 11th, use code PIONEERS20 as a promo code) WHAT DO FEES GET YOU: -10 league games on either Tuesday or Wednesday night all hosted at C&H Ballpark in St. Charles (Games start the first week of September and go through the mid/end of October). The league is being hosted by the St. Louis Amateur Baseball Association. -Jersey -Coaching provided by Duchesne Coaches (8th grade team will be coached by a former Duchesne Player and long time supporter of the program as we cannot have an official Duchesne coach coaching 8th graders due to Missouri High School rules) -Some teams may offer optional practice times, practices will not be mandatory and playing time will not be affected by attendance or lack thereof. Holding practices will be up to the individual coach of the team and most coaches last season did not hold practices because most participants have other commitments in the fall they are working around. -If enough team participants would like to compete in a tournament during the season that is something we will coordinate for early October and we will collect tournament fees at that time from players who want to play in a tournament. There is not guarantee that the teams will compete in a tournament as player availability and interest will need to be determined once we start playing league games. SIGN UP DEADLINE: We have invited more players than we can accept on the rosters and roster spots will be first come first served. WHAT AGE GROUP WILL TEAMS BE PARTICIPATING: The age group your son will be participating in is based on the level of play they will be competing at next summer. For example if your son played 12U this summer then he will be playing in the 13U fall league. The teams being offered this fall are the following: 14U (players entering 8th grade) 13U (players entering 7th grade) 11U/12U combination (players entering 5th and 6th grade) If we have enough for an 11U only team we will create a 2nd team for these levels to play at 11U. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: What if my normal summer team is playing in the fall? We are setting this up to be flexible for everyone involved. If you have a conflict we will be flexible to be able to have enough players to fill in. We are not trying to get players to not play with their current clubs and we encourage them to continue to play with their club team if they are doing things in the fall. Most players that played with us last season were concurrently playing with their typical summer/club team and it worked out great. Pitching: We will be making a conscious effort to limit the overuse of pitching. If your son is concurrently playing with another team and pitching for them we will make sure they are available to pitch for that team and expect for them to be unavailable to pitch for this team. Are all players who attended summer camp invited to play on these teams? No, this is an invite only team and the majority of participants at summer camp are not invited to play. If you know someone who may be interested in Duchesne and playing for this team. Please let us know and we can look into inviting them if numbers allow. WE ARE LOOKING FORWARD TO ANOTHER GREAT FALL SEASON. LAST SEASON WAS THE FIRST YEAR OF THIS PROGRAM AND WE HAD GREAT SUCCESS WINNING OUR LEAGUES AT THE 14U AND 13U LEVELS. MORE IMPORTANTLY THOUGH, THE KIDS HAD FUN AND LEARNED A FEW THINGS ABOUT PLAYING THE GAME THE PIONEER WAY!
