Description
WILMINGTON, MA — A traffic study will be conducted at the intersection of Middlesex Avenue and Clark Street after recent crashes, but the town cannot prune the neighboring shrubs, the police said.
Recent crashes at the intersection include a July 14 hit-and-run and a July 11 two-vehicle crash.
Following the crashes, resident Wanda McLaren wrote to the Wilmington Apple calling for the town to take action to change the intersection.
The police said Thursday a traffic study will be conducted at the intersection and data will be reviewed by a traffic engineer. The engineer will make recommendations to Wilmington.
But the town cannot prune the shrubs on the corner, as they are on private property, the police said.
"The property owners have been approached about potential pruning of the shrubs and have declined to do so," the police said.
