Hi everyone! I just moved to the area from Brooklyn and I’m looking to form a pop oriented 5(or6) piece for originals and covers, weekly rehearsals, monthly gigging and the simple joy of making music. I’m envisioning 2 Guitars, Drum, Bass and Keys plus as many vocalists as we can throw together. I am primarily a singer/songwriter but I play serviceable rhythm guitar and can plunk chords on keys. Harmonies would be really fun. I have a lot of songs ready to go in my back catalogue but I’m eager to write new material with the right people. Historically I have wound up fronting most bands I’ve been involved with like my last project www.thejonestitle.com BUT I am happy to take a backseat to the right vocalist. My influences are all over the place, but for this project I’m hoping to do something very catchy and groove oriented, sort of contemporary Hall and Oates. Leon Bridges, Tom Misch, MoonChild, Thundercat, Arlo Parks, Lianne La Havas, Jacob Collier, MonoNeon, Mayer Hawthorne, John Mayer when he’s not doing campfire songs, Allan Stone, The Internet… stuff that grooves without being retro sounding.
