Description

This wine mixer/film screening creates opportunities for our community to network, mingle and screen films from filmmakers on their way up. The first film to be screened in this series is from Washington DC based filmmaker, Harold Jackson III. About the Filmmaker: Harold Jackson III is an EMMY Nominated Producer. He grew up in Los Angeles in a large extended family of film consumers. This is where his passion and interest for film was born. Harold soon realized he had a gift for writing. He says, "Storytelling through visualization is what drives me." After honorably serving our country in the United States Marine Corps, he completed an undergraduate degree in Television at Kutztown University in Pennsylvania. Then went on to complete a master's degree in Film from American University in Washington, DC. Harold has produced, written, and directed multiple films, series, and documentaries and is a critically acclaimed writer, director, and filmmaker. Some of his award-winning productions include "BURN: The Evolution of An American City," a documentary about the current state of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and its history of Black Wallstreet and the Tulsa Race Riot. "Last Night" (ABFF BEST SCREENPLAY/AUDIENCE CHOICE Winner), The HBO Best Film winning "Unarmed Man," a film engulfed in social commentary when civil unrest erupts after a police officer kills an unarmed man, and the EMMY Nominated series "Anacostia." Harold's recent project is "Liam White" with a cast of Jasmine Guy, TC Carson, and singer Brave Williams.
