GARDEN CITY, NY — There will be a blood drive at the Garden City Library on Aug. 10, and eligible people are encouraged to donate.
The drive, held by Long Island Blood Services, will take place from 1 to 7 p.m. in the Large Meeting Room on the library's lower level.
Hospitals around Long Island are facing a critical blood shortage. A donation can save up to three lives.
Appointments are preferred. Walk-ins will only be taken if capacity permits. Click here to schedule an appointment. You can also call 1-800-688-0900 to schedule an appointment, or with any questions.
Masks must be worn during the entire donation procedure.
