ARLINGTON, MA — Massachusetts Peace Action will sponsor a screening of "The War Game," an Academy Award-winning film by Peter Watkins, at the Regent Theatre Friday to remember the bombing of Hiroshima. The 1966 film is a "pseudo-documentary" that depicts a hypothetical nuclear war and its aftermath. Following the screening, there will be a talk with Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Ira Helfand and a candlelight vigil highlighting the costs of nuclear war and the dangers that arise from the stockpiling of nuclear weapons. Tickets can be bought or reserved here. The suggested donation is $10, but people can pay more or less depending on their financial situation. There's also an option to reserve tickets now and pay at the door. More information about the event (and a list of cosponsors) can be found here.
