JERSEY CITY, NJ — Hudson County and New Jersey have seen an uptick in coronavirus cases. But what does that mean for Jersey City? According to the New Jersey Department of Health's COVID-19 dashboard, Hudson County had a daily metric of 69 confirmed cases as of Wednesday. For Jersey City, an average of 33 new cases have been reported this week, according to data collected by the city. Jersey City has seen an average of 28 new cases in the past two weeks. According to city data, there were three COVID-19 patients in Christ Hospital as of August 2 and four COVID-19 patients in Jersey City Medical Center as of July 31. Officials continue to monitor the delta variant, which accounted for 53.2 percent of coronavirus cases in New Jersey over a four-week period ending on July 3, CDC numbers show.
