JERSEY CITY, NJ — A Jersey City man was arrested and charged on Tuesday for the sexual assault of a teenage girl.
The 21-year-old Jersey City man was charged with two counts of second-degree sexual assault, endangering the welfare of a child and criminal sexual contact. The man was arrested at the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office in Jersey City just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
According to the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office, the sexual assaults happened after the man met the teen while working in a corner store near the victim's home in the Bergen-Lafayette neighborhood. The two then went to Berry Lane Park on several occasions where the assaults happened, according to the HCPO.
Prosecutor Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor's Office Special Victims Unit and theJersey City Police Department for the investigation and arrest.
