Description

Press release from the Dallas Regional Chamber - Blog: August 3, 2021 The Dallas Region has the best business climate among all large metros in the U.S., according to the July/August 2021 edition of Business Facilities magazine. The magazine – a trade publication for corporate site selectors – also ranked the region among tops in its food processing category, growth potential as a tech hub, and data centers. "As Texas continues to be a global economic powerhouse, leading the nation with one of the country's most diverse economies, it's no surprise that the Lone Star State dominated the charts on this year's awards," wrote the Texas Governor's Office of Economic Development in an email to relocation industry professionals across the state. The message indicated that Texas earned 47 rankings from Business Facilities magazine. In drawing up its business climate rankings, Business Facilities – which has published the list for 17 years –  weighs factors such as a skilled workforce, workforce training, availability of sites for development, and electricity costs. Taking second in the large-metro category was Phoenix. In other categories, Dallas and the city of Irving ranked No. 5 and No. 9, respectively, for corporate headquarters. The Dallas Region ranked No. 7 for tech jobs. Texas fared well in statewide rankings from Business Facilities, taking top ten finishes in 17 categories, including first-place rankings for installed wind power capacity and semiconductor production. The Lone Star State took second place in seven categories, including as a food-processing leader, health care jobs, and recovery from the Covid-19 economic downturn.
